“8 Ways To Declutter Your Mind”
Decluttering your mind is about clearing your head so you can focus on the important things. Here are 8 ways to declutter your mind and get you focused.
1. Accept what is
Accept what is, let go of what was, and have faith in what will be. One of the greatest sources of unhappiness, in my experience, is the difficulty we have in accepting things as they are. Without judgment, without wishing for otherwise. When we see something we don’t like, we wish it could be different — we cry out for something better. That may be human nature, or perhaps it’s something that’s ingrained in our culture.
2. Be kind to yourself
Many people make the error of trying to be kind to others while at the same time not focusing on being kind to themselves. Some of this can stem from not liking aspects of yourself, but more often than not, it’s sourced in the inability to know yourself better. And unfortunately, when you don’t feel rock solid within yourself, your kindness to others risks falling into the deluded types of kindness described in the previous step. Or, it can lead to burn-out and disillusionment because you’ve put everyone else first.
3. Release your guilt and fears
If you are never scared, embarrassed, or hurt, it means you never take chances. Ground yourself in the present. In other words, start where you are. Until you fully accept where you are, you can’t move forward. Get real with yourself and shine a light onto all of those things that are not serving you.
4. Let go of control
Letting go of control is about loosening our grip, allowing ourselves to be supported and trusting that things will turn out as they are meant to. Is this easy? Not always, although it can be. However, as we practice this and expand our capacity to let go, we’ll be able to release and transform a good amount of unnecessary stress, worry, and anxiety from our lives, our work and our relationships.
5. Visualize what’s important to you
Did you know you have the power to change your life for the better? That this power is buried inside of you and it is easy to unleash? This power can be harnessed at any time and many of the most successful people in the world use it all of the time. What is this super power? It is the power to visualize, or more importantly, the power to visualize your goals. Visualizing your goals has become a hot trend recently. The idea behind visualizing your goals is that if you “see” your goal, you are more likely to achieve it.
6. Focus on your life-force energy
There’s a deep energy that runs through our bodies. If you sit still and silent, you can almost feel it flowing nonstop. This energy keeps our hearts beating, our creativity flowing, and our thoughts and emotions active. It’s what allows us to breathe, explore, and set our intentions. This energy is your life force. When you focus on your thought on your breath, you are focusing on the present moment. When you focus on the present moment, you have left behind fearful memories of the past and allow pure energy intelligence to enter you clearly.
7. Allow yourself to be vulnerable
Vulnerable means to show yourself to others completely and utterly without holding back for fear of rejection or judgment. It means to say “here I am, flesh and bones. Here are my strengths, here are my weaknesses, here is where I stand-take it or leave it”
8. Find what doesn’t serve or interest you and let it go
Life is easy. We make it difficult. Many times we keep ourselves in situations and around people that really don’t have our best interest. We think it’s hard to let go of these things. Yes, it does take some self-discipline but it really isn’t that hard to do. We make it difficult by believing that letting go is more difficult than holding on. By why hold on to something that doesn’t serve your best interest? By holding on, we are making our lives more difficult. Sometimes the best things come to us in our lives when we get out of our comfort zones. Letting go is not something most of us are comfortable with… but when we do… amazing things happen.
